Writer Coaching

Whatever writing dream you have it’s alive, begging you to sit down and put pen to paper or fingers to keyboard and give it life. Only when you do…something happens. The joy flees. The dread settles in. And suddenly, doing anything but writing feels extremely important.

Sound familiar?

"How do I know if a writing coach will help?"

If you want to experience:

  • Greater joy and less stress in your writing time

  • More satisfaction as you change old mindsets about writing and learn a new way of creating

  • Increased inspiration, motivation, and "finally finishing" celebration dances

  • Freedom from restrictive "writing rules"

  • Empowerment as you create a simple, easy-to-follow writing plan

  • Falling in love with writing again

...then writer coaching will be a great fit for you.

"Who is writer coaching for?"

  • beginner, intermediate, or advanced writer

  • Someone with ADHD/ADD

  • A doubt-filled, frustrated "wannabe" author

  • A Highly-Sensitive Person (HSPs)

  • An NF (Intuitive Feeler via Myers-Briggs)

With a bachelor’s degree in psychology and years spent as a case manager, I’ve honed my counseling and coaching skills. And as an INFJ, it’s always been second nature for me to help others to see the answers that lie inside through gentle but honest excavation.

Together, we’ll set up simple plans and processes so that you will finally reach your writing goals–whatever they are.

"How often do we meet?"

Schedule one session or a fifty–it’s completely up to you. Some people find the answers they need in a single coaching call. Others enjoy ongoing meetings for more complicated issues, for accountability, and for consistent motivation.

"How does it work?"

I work with clients one-on-one by phone. Video calls are available if you live outside the U.S., and our time zones allow us to work together.

"What does it cost?"

Coaching rates are $85/hour. Payment is made online via Square or PayPal at the time of booking. (Note: Both Square and PayPal allow for credit card payments, no account required.)

"I still have questions. What should I do?"

Feel free to contact me. I'd love to hear from you.

I have used coaching before but what I liked abut working with Joy was that she knew exactly how I felt about pitching and had other ideas for me to try.

Joy is a methodical questioner who took the time to listen carefully to my answers in order to help me gain clarity on my writing business. She also outlined some concrete steps that would help me move forward in developing my business.
